Internet traffic, or bandwidth is getting cheaper every year. Since the launch of YouTube, there have been thousands of videos published daily on the internet. We call such videos “on demand”, since you choose when to start the video, pause it and watch in again. This is the most flexible way of watching video online. It’s like watching it at your home on a DVD or similar player.

There is another way of watching video over the internet. It’s called linear or classic TV. It’s like TV that you are used to (cable), only streamed over the internet. Cheaper bandwidth allowed for more people to have faster connections at home, which means that you can watch TV online in real time, without constant buffering problems (this kind of problems are not common with on demand video, since you can pre-load it).

There are new online TV stations launching almost daily and that shows, that original TV is not dead yet, just reborn online.
